Well overdue... I know, I know.

So, it's been over a year that I've been telling my Uncle Bob that I would pick up writing again. When I moved from Clarion to Pittsburgh two years ago, I wrote a blog for Clarion University during my last semester at Clarion. It was supposed to detail my transition to Pittsburgh, and the internship at Jack Horner Communications, that brought me down there. While it did, it also frequently detailed my e-mails from famous YouTubers, my experiences at Justin Timberlake concerts, and other ridiculous things. My family was instantly hooked.
At any rate, there have been two Thanksgivings since my last blog on a public site, outside of the occasional Myspace post, and at each Thanksgiving get-together up in Wisconsin, Uncle Bob always says "Allison... I really miss reading your blog. When are you going to start up again? Please let me know." Okay, Bob, this is dedicated totally to you. Today's the day-- I'm starting up a blog.
While I think my life is pretty boring and routine, there are still stories I can't wait to tell you of. Especially with my increased traveling for my job at Pascale Communications. In short, I work for a virtual PR agency, which is healthcare specific. To date, I have five clients-- all in the eyecare industry. Since I'm not sure how "legal" it is for me to divulge specific details, I'll keep it evasive-- but there's a company that does imaging for glaucoma and retinal diseases, a company that has a surgical implant as an alternative to the trabeculectmy (glaucoma surgery), and three new "project clients"... a dual-optic IOL for cataract patients, a software company that creates videos for ophthalmic and optometric companies (among other things, I'm sure), and the final-- and most exciting (to me)-- a Wet AMD radiation treatment, promising to challenge the Kleenex of the Wet AMD treament industry.
At any rate, I'm planned to travel several times this year, and have already started the year with a trip to San Francisco (more about that in a later blog, I promise...) and have two more scheduled trips back to Cali at the beginning of March and April. Tenatively scheduled trips include New York City, Washington D.C., Boston, Ft. Lauderdale, and back to Cali again-- some of these places more than once. Each trip is exhausting, and I've already lost my iPod on a red eye back from California-- but I have some pretty cool times, which I've decided would make for good stories on here.
More about me and what to expect from here, eh? Well, I live with my boyfiend and friend, Meghann, in a primarily Jewish neighborhood in Pittsburgh. I have a seven pound Shihpoo, Dori, and work from home. I don't get out much, but I'm convinced that that's for my own good, and that it's a sign that I'm growing up. Besides, Pittsburgh winters are cold and snowy, and I'm much warmer on the couch, reading one of the four Twilight books. Yes, it's true... I'm a Twilight junky. I'm sure my first few posts will entail my obsession with Edward Cullin, main character of the vampires in the series.
I don't really have a good way to round this blog out-- but thought I'd "hit the ground running" as we always like to tell our clients, promising them of good things to come. For the time being though, I've got to get to work-- I've got to enable international dialing onto my cellphone before a call in 45 minutes with a doctor from London. That's right-- I frequently dial strange countries. Who woulda thunk it?!?!?!
