So, there's this thing going around Facebook... a note, entitled "25 things". Simple as it sounds, it's 25 things about you, that you list out and post for all of your friends (that you tag) to see. I figured, "this is an easy enough post for on here"... and sure enough, it is...
In other news, I spent my lunch break sitting on the balcony reading more of Twilight. I'm 180 pages in, and I started reading last night. I can't wait for 5:00pm, when I can have the freedom to read all night long.
At any rate, I now present, "25 Things About Me":
1) I am the sister to an adopted younger sister and a half older brother. When I was younger, this meant to me that I was the oldest child (if my brother didn't count), a middle child (if he did), a youngest child (if Bekah didn't count) and an only child (if neither of them did)... all wrapped into one "me".
2) I still swear that I have never had chicken pox... I dont even know if I spelled that right-- because I've never had them.
3) I have a crush on Leighton Meister... among other famous people. (Update: you can now add Robert Pattinson to that list, too)
4) I won the sixth grade spelling bee at my school. I won after having spelled "iceberg" correctly.
5) I made it to the final round in my diocese spelling bee following that win. I lost trying to spell the word "disco theque". Bastards. That's two words... and I've never used it again in my life... except to tell this story.
6) My dog is up there in ranks with my closest, and very best, friends... and I love my friends A LOT.
7) I am NOT the biggest fan of heels, despite being a pretty huge girly-girl. They're growing on me, but I can NOT justify spending lots of money on something I stomp through puddles in. I'd much rather buy clothes and Old Navy flip flops.
8) I'm convinced that my boyfriend would not survive without me in his life. As a matter of fact, I just won an argument that 16 hours ago (from now, 8pm) was NOT 2am. It was in fact 4am.
9) I'm probably never going to stop biting my nails-- no matter how many years in a row I make the resolution to stop doing so... and if I make a resolution to lose five pounds, I'll likely gain ten.
10) Black licorice makes me want to vomit-- but if you INSIST on buying me a shot of Sambuca, I will not turn it down.
11) I am going to be a Betty Crocker mom when I grow up... But Betty Crocker 2.0-- you know, the version that can also be successful, happy, and bake cookies and a kickass dinner for her amazing children (to be).
12) I will never own a minivan, despite my Betty Crockerism. I will drive an SUV that gets 8 gallons to the mile (yes, that's right) before I buy a minivan.
13) While in San Francisco this week, I ate caviar, and really liked it. (This was at the end of January... keep in mind, this is an old post from Facebook, reposted on here.)
14) I don't see the point in getting worked up over things-- there's really nothing I can do, so I may as well do what it takes to get over it, and move on.
15) When I was four, I had a cataract removed from my left eye. I don't have an IOL in it, and I work in the healthcare field-- specific to ophthalmology and optometry. Ironic? Maybe. Cool, nonetheless? I think so.
16) I'm not QUITE sure what my natural haircolor is. I have an idea, which is a good start.
17) At one point in my life, I had 16 holes in my body (ears, bellybutton, nose and tongue... <--- not consecutively). I put one set of earrings in my ears now.
18) I'm doing a pretty good job of growing up... and I'm quite enjoying it.
19) I love to observe my surroundings. I'm completely content sitting somewhere, by myself, whether it be on my balcony or in a restaurant, just taking it all in.
20) My family is from Chicago, Boston, College Station (Texas), Denver, Kansas City, Flint, scattered through Wisconsin... and Clarion.
21) I find great pleasure in painting and drawing-- I don't do nearly enough of it, despite my house being decorated with it.
22) (I think) I can make most anyone like me.
23) This is serious. I am addicted to peanut butter. It can not be kept in the house. I will eat it in mass quantities, even if it's not mine (which it almost always is).
24) I communicate via text and e-mail an unhealthy amount. I'm working on picking up the phone and calling people more frequently.
25) I think this final "25th thing" should be a good one... but can not think of anything super snazzy to say. Therefore, I'll say this... I am a very lucky human being on a number of levels. I'm thankful every day for my family, friends, job, health and happiness. I would not be anywhere without any of those.
