The best birthday I've ever had. Ever.

I somehow managed to get an entire weekend, my birthday, the Wednesday following, AND a Friday/Sunday from the following weekend ALL for me for my birthday. I feel so special.

For real... this was a year that I was not planning to make a big deal of my birthday.
* I wanted to be special last year for 25... and it blew up in my face. (Disclaimer: I had a great night, until LATE night when J Dubs turns into a crap weasel...)
* I had missed a couple friends birthdays earlier this year, so why should I deserve to do anything special for my birthday?
* Joe had planned a trip with his friends to Vegas over the weekend of my birthday. In all fairness, he completely forgot, and felt AWFUL after the fact...
* I was just turning 26, nothing fancy.

Boy oh boy, am I lucky girl. I honestly had the BEST birthday of my life, despite the above. Here's a quick (maybe) recap. I might do this by way of photography after a bit.

Friday
I went home to Clarion on Friday, to spend time with my family. I ended up going out with Briana and my sister, and managed to stay out til 4am (behaving myself, I swear!) It was a fun night, though. I occasionally have those in Clarion, and it's always nice to not have entirely bitter feelings towards Clarion...

Saturday
Saturday, before I headed back to Pittsburgh, I had a great lunch with my family. They gave me wonderful presents (money and a Pandora bracelet with two charms...) and it's always a pleasure seeing them. I wish I could spend more time with them.

After lunch, I rushed back to Pittsburgh, where Mike picked me up-- Dave Matthews Concert at PNC Park! Woot woot! Below are some pictures. Tailgating was SO much fun. It was so crazy, and there were people tailgating all over the North Shore (a pretty big area, where PNC Park is, Heinz Field is, in addition to a river, the casino, etc etc etc). There were people drinking, playing cornhole, drinking games, listening to music, dancing... there was a slip-and-slide!!! there were people on boats on the river. IT WAS AMAZING.

The concert was equally amazing, in my opinion. The view of the city from PNC Park is breathtaking. Kate and Fred joined us for the concert. It was a great time!

Sunday
Sunday, I had to wake up and get my sh*t in gear. DiAnna had arranged for a few of us to go to Sandcastle for the day, and then to her place for a BBQ. ALL FOR ME. Totally unncessary, but SO appreciated. It was such a fun/perfect day! The weather was beautiful, it was hot, and it was absolutely nothing extravagant. I had SUCH a good time.

At DiAnna's, she had decorations up, and an ice cream cake for me. The food was delicious. No Joe Joe (boo!) but just the quiet, casual Sunday was more than enough for me.

Monday
Birthday day! I chose not to take the day off work-- why bother? However, the day was filled with calls, texts, e-mails, and loads and loads of Facebook love. It made me feel so special. That evening, I went to Meghann and Curtis's apartment for Maxican Cheese for dinner! YUM! Perfect way to spend my birthday.

Tuesday
JOE CAME BACK FROM VEGAS IN ONE PIECE! Can I count this as a bonus birthday present?

Wednesday
Birthday present from Joe night. I came to his house bearing pizza, because I'm nice like that... and he was waiting for me with the cutest card, and a little blue box. Yes, that's right. Tiffany's! A gorgeous bracelet. Perfect! I can wear it with EVERYTHING!

The rest of the night was just spent hanging out, which was perfectly fine with me. I just like laying around watching tv with him. I just like him.

Friday
Friday was dinner date night with Joe. He had been talking about this for a couple weeks now, and told me (on Wednesday) that we'd be going to Melting Pot, this wonderful fondue place in Station Square, which is on the river in the city. It was over a two hour meal, but it was delicious, and so much fun. After dinner, we went to look at the city on the river, had a cute little moment, and had a couple pictures taken. The camera that we took it with didn't take very clear nighttime pictures though :( That's okay! It was still wonderful, and the evening is engrained in my memory FOREVER :) After that, we just went to the bar to meet with some of his friends. I like his friends, and I like one of his best friends girlfriends, which is good!!!

^Aren't we the cutest ever? ...and, seriously, isn't he photogenic? Love it!

(Saturday)
Saturday, we just went to Joe's Aunt Bonnie's 60th birthday party. Nice to spend time with his family.

Sunday
Sunday... probably just as memorable and "special feeling" as my friends going above-and-beyond for my birthday, or Joe going above-and-beyond... Joe's parents threw a dinner for me! I went over to his parents, as I do many Sunday's for dinner with him and his family-- we had chicken parmesan, lasagna, salad, garlic bread-- the works! Afterwards, there was cheesecake and a coconut cake, and they sang happy birthday to me. I even got a gift-- a GPS and gift card to Cheesecake Factory. TOTALLY above and beyond. Totally unnecessary. Totally appreciated.

That night, I went home and wrote thank you notes to DiAnna and Tim, Meghann and Curtis, and the Bytzura's for all of their hospitality and kind things they did for my birthday. It meant SO MUCH to me, and I feel SO lucky to have such great people in my life.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
