30 Days of Thankful-- Work edition

I really feel like I should keep this short... or not be blogging my '30 Days of Thankful' right now, as I just spent most of the morning with my boss, at breakfast, Sephora, etc. However, if I don't do it now, I might never get around to it, and want to stay on track..

Today, I am thankful for my job.

My job pisses me off sometimes. Who's doesn't?

There are days that cabin fever gets to me, especially during a long stint in the apartment in the middle of the winter. There are days that people get on my nerves. There are days I don't do as well as I should with something. But there are also a lot of things I do really well, especially given my age and experience.

Today, I met with my boss for breakfast. It brought me into Shadyside, which I love, and we ate at Pamelas (a little dinner in Shadyside) which I LOVE. Boy, am I thankful to have this job.

First off, I have a job. Something to be thankful for, in general. It's also a job that is in my field, which many people don't necessarily get out of school. But in addition to all of those things, and the obvious perks of working from home, in sweats, etc, I am really lucky to have the support and opportunity that I do with my job.

My boss supports and encourages a move to California (or Timbuktu, according to her). That's where all of our clients are, and while she would never force it, she would support the idea and it's nice to know that you have opportunity and flexibility.

My boss told me that when I get bored with pitching (one of my primary responsibilities here) and doing the work that I'm doing now, to let her know, and we can do new things. Good to know my job isn't limited.

Basically, it's good to know that I have a boss who is there for me, to help me, to work through things, to help me see the "bigger picture". The breakfast meeting was even something to be thankful for. I'm just very thankful... and on that note, need to get back to work before I DON'T have this job to be so thankful for :)

Have a great day!
